I’ve asked so many of my friends if they remember the Flying Saucers ride at Disneyland in California and they give me this puzzled look on their faces. I can’t believe that nobody remembers this ride, it use to be one of my favorites when I was a kid. The flying saucer ride was around from 1961 to 1966. The best way to describe it, is like one of those air hockey tables on steroids. The saucers ride on a cushion of air and you steer them by leaning side to side or forward and backward. At the end of the ride, a huge mechanical arm sweeps all of the saucers back to their starting point so you could exit the ride. It was a short ride, but was great fun!
