Who doesn’t remember Farrell’s! Ahhh, the Pig Trough, the Zoo, any kid would be in 7th heaven, I surely was. In my younger days, we would go to the location in Van Nuys, California because that was the closest one to where I lived at the time. Then when I was older, there was a location in Torrance, California that I went to. I vaguely remember that they had sirens going when they literally ran the “Zoo” out to your table on like a wooden stretcher. Great fun!
After I became an adult, all of the Farrell’s local to us, closed down and we didn’t hear anything more about them again. Well, while doing my research for this post, I had discovered that Farrell’s is making a comeback and as they put it, “…to stay true to the philosophies upon which the original company was founded”.
Here’s something else I did not know, from 1971 to 1985, the Marriott Corporation had owned the company.
